Everything is so aptly placed! I wonder if you have considered pairing verse to some pieces. The recurring characters suggest a narrative without actually giving one, and I like that "suggestion"; perhaps a verse, too, could suggest without telling. That said, speaking generally, not every painter is automatically a poet... with words at least.
Thank you I'm happy that you caught on that the reoccurring characters have a narrative. One of my goals I've been working on is to create stories through various paintings!
On a few pieces, I have included small versus, but I don't do them for all.
When I saw the waterfalls, I though of Katsushika Hokusai. Absolutely fabulous. But also the Kitsune spirit with the long hair, the lantern and the Kimono with her delicate pattern is adorable. She looks happy and calm, maybe this is her favorite spot? The red, brown (sepia?) and fading blue with the white flowers is worth of a fashion collection in my mind. Also the spirit-flames (Kitsune-bi) around her and the Hoshi no Tama (Star ball) are also well done (or has she two?) . If I may, this is a modern day, drawn Ukiyo-e. I'm still guessing if she's a three or four-tailed fox (the more tails, the more powerful, according to the folk tales). My congratulations on this.
Ah, I love this soo muuuch. The textures in the grass look great, in fact, the textures in general look great. Also your linework is beautiful, and those flowry details on the dress are a nice touch. All just
