Bakeneko are typically malicious yokai, often possessing humans through killing them. The woman at the top of the stairs is an example of this possession, and Okina realizes there is something off about her--well, besides that she too has animal-like features. My next painting will feature the large feline form.

I was happy when the painting was finished, but now I'm feeling so-so about it. Ahh well. Onto the next.
